A little insight into my professional history
I got my professional start in K12 education in January 2004 as a volunteer at Como Park Senior High School in St. Paul, MN. Soon after I began volunteering I started working on my teaching credentials. From fall 2005 to spring 2008 I taught full-time secondary level French in the Twin Cities. I moved to Chicago in the summer of 2009 and joined the faculty at William J. Bogan Computer Technical High School as a French teacher. In December 2012 I stepped out of the classroom to take the position of Digital Learning Coordinator at Bogan. This was a full-time instructional leadership position. I led a cohort of 13 teachers and supported a deployment of 300 iPads. Over time I grew in my EdTech capacity and began to offer weekly Google PD and PD focusing on device agnostic tools and social media. In January 2014 I joined the iOS Device Management Administration team at Chicago Public Schools to gain more technical understanding of iOS devises in schools, supported through enterprise networks. In the summer of 2014 I left Chicago to join my partner in Boston, MA.
I earned an Ed.S. in Administration and Supervision in 2012 from National Louis University in Chicago, IL. Before moving to Chicago I earned an M.A.T. and a Certificate in Urban Teaching at Hamline University in St. Paul, MN. I am a 2003 graduate of the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities in Minneapolis, MN, where I earned a BA in French Studies, partly satisfying my program requirements by studying abroad for one academic year at the Université Paul Valéry-Montpellier III in Montpelier, France.
